HW-8

I think that the first draft is all about the process of writing it and not about the product. Lamott talks about how in the first draft all you have to do is write, just get something down on the paper. Some of the things that you write will be used in the second draft and they help tell you where you want to go with the paper but you are going to edit the first draft so it really doesn’t matter what or how you write it draft. Your first draft isn’t about the product because all you really are doing in the first draft is just writing whatever comes to mind, usually people don’t even see the first draft so it doesn’t matter what you write. I would agree especially in regards to my first draft. It’s just to get my ideas on paper and have somewhat of a direction in where I am going with the paper. The second and third draft are what really count. Those are the drafts that matter, they help set everything up for the final draft.
